Connecting an iRiver IFP-799

I have an iRiver IFP-799 mp3 player that I want to sync with my iMac.

I know that the system can see the device because it shows up in the System Report.

However, it does not show up in Finder nor does it show up in the music app.

Does anyone know how I can get it to show up in finder.

Any isights would be appreciated.
