video turned blue when zooming out while taking video

iphone 12 Mini, iOS 14.4.2.

I was outside taking a video of a passing train. I zoomed in a little bit with the digital zoom. When I zoomed back out, the video turned blue. Like the train, and all the trees and things turned purple/blue-ish. I think this is when it switched to the wide angle camera.

When zooming back in to the 1.x and higher zoom it went back to normal colors.

This seems either like a bug or a design flaw.

I think it would be nice to have the option to disable this behavior, because it looks goofy when the video is viewed later on.

Hello doug526,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having trouble, when taking video on your iPhone. It looks like when the video is zoomed out. The video turned blue, this may have happened when you switched to wide angle camera. We'll do our best to help. We'd like to ask a couple of questions to narrow down the cause of this issue. Was this a one time incident? Is this happening all the time when using the zoomed feature? Is this happening with different apps? The more details we have the better we can help.
