Why do I have to provide my ss# and DL I go when someone else sends me money?

Why do I have to provide my ss# and DL when someone else sends me money??? My bank already verified this information. Apple company is not a financial institution and therefore, has no business collecting personal identifying information.

Are you talking about Apple Pay? If so, yes those things may be asked the first time you send or receive money using Apple Pay with a particular person.

It’s not Apple that is asking for that identity verification. It is their partner, Green Dot Bank who is processing the transaction. They handle the person to person transfers made using Apple Pay.
