Cancel subscription and get a refund

I recently got a free trial for 7 days of Simply Piano. I don’t want to continue the subscription anymore because my child was not that interested with piano. 7days was up and I forgot to cancel it, apple already billed my credit card for the subscription. What should I do?

I tried doing the refund first but it says I don’t have any subscription that has a refund. Should I cancel the subscription first in order for it to have a refund option? I’m just worried to waste more money that if I cancel and not get a refund at all.
