Siri says "Good morning, the scene is set" when it's not morning and i'm not activating a scene that has anything to do with a time of day.

When I use Siri to activate a scene to change the colour of my Hue lights to one specific colour (in this case, blue), Siri will reply with "Good morning, the scene is set" regardless of the time of day. This is the same whether I am using Siri on my iPad, iPhone or Homepod mini.

It's frustrating and i'd like to find out why it's doing that please. I have a few scenes set that are merely colour changes of multiple lights and none of the others elicit a "good morning... etc," response, just "ok" or "done."

I was having this same issue and I finally realized what was causing it!

take a look at the Scene’s icon in the Home App. Does the icon have a picture of a house with a tiny sun rising over it? if so, then that is the “built-in“ Good Morning scene that gets created automatically when HomeKit is enabled.

Probably, at some point, a HomePod or tvOS or iOS update caused the scene to be transformed from a regular, ordinary scene into the “good morning“ scene and this change went unnoticed.

I changed the name of the scene that was causing the problem to a different name, then created a new scene. For example let’s say “Scene A” was the one causing the “Good Morning, the scene is set” response— I changed its name to “Backup Scene” then created a new Scene called “Scene A” containing the same actions as “Backup Scene.”

Now Siri no longer replies “good morning…” but she DOES say that when I request “Backup Scene.”

I hope this helps! I’m glad to finally put a stop to the annoying response.

Thank you for getting back to us!

It looks like your iPhone needs updating to iOS 14.4.2. Do you have a recent backup for the data in your iPhone in iCloud or your computer? If not, we recommend that you create one as described here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Then update your iOS as outlined here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

After that, test to see if the issue is resolved. If it isn't, does it affect the same scenes each time, even after removing and recreating the scenes, or is it random?

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hello Scooterrific,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with Siri's response when changing the color on your Hue lights. Which exact version of iOS are you updated to under Settings > General > About on your iPhone and iPad? Does restarting resolve the issue? If you remove the affected scene and add it again does the issue persist?

Cheers!

I am getting the same crazy response from Siri when I use the HOME app to turn the TV off. “Good Morning the scene is set”.

(Latest iOS on iPad Pro and iPhone XS Max ) this is a ‘scene’ in have had in HOME for months and this problem response has only recently started. I have deleted the scene and added the scene again and still the same “morning" response.

Interestingly, when I use Siri on the Apple Watch to run the “TV off” scene, I get the sensible response TV off, coming right up!!

I too have this issueon my HomePod mini. All of my devices are up to date as is the firmware for the smart switch.

I have had a specific scene set for the longest time and only recently has it started saying “good morning the scene is set” what’s even more annoying is the scene is to turn off my bedroom light which I usually do going to bed.

I wish there was a way to customize or pick the response Siri will say when responding to a scene. Or to turn the response off all together if the user so chose
