YouTube Premium not working

My YouTube premium all of a sudden stopped working yesterday. When I check my Apple ID subscriptions on my iPhone, it shows that my YouTube premium is ‘Active’. However, when I go to my YouTube app, Im still getting ads and can’t play/listen to the videos in the background. I’m already logged in to the account I used to purchase YouTube premium. When I click on ‘Try YouTube premium’ it shows that I am already currently subscribed. However, It doesn’t seem like the app recognizes my account as a subscriber because I’m still getting ads..
