Decimal point on Euro currency when living in Europe

It seems impossible to change the decimal point for the Euro currency from a comma to a period if the region is set to one of the countries in Europe. I have now selected an African country and changed all settings manually to those of my own (EU) country, which also allows me to change the decimal for Euro to a period instead of a comma.

Google on this question leads me to this community where the issue is known for over a year. It was solved for the user asking the question as that user needed it to work in Numbers. However, the root cause (which is in MacOS) was not solved and is bothering me in other apps than Numbers.

When is this bug going to be fixed?

Yes, many countries use the comma as the decimal delimiter, whether for 'normal' numbers or for currency. However, that is not the point here.

Mac OS allows to change the grouping and decimal delimiters for numbers and currency, but it does not apply the change to the currency if the currency is Euro and the region in the previous screen is either NL/FR/GE/AT/IT (at least, there may be more).

If you select one of these countries as region and Euro as currency, then the formatting of currency remains as per the countries default (comma for decimal) whatever delimiters you choose.

If you select Ireland, the default is comma for thousands and period for decimals, but you can change it to any other choice. Same with other currencies, even in one of the previously named countries.

Example screenshots for France: default for numbers and currency is space for thousands and comma for decimals. I can change the delimiters for numbers, but not the delimiters for currency when the currency is Euro.

It working for me too, in Germany. My region is set to Germany, the language is set to English, UK, and the number formats in the advanced options for the region are set like this (macOS 11): Without being able to change the number format for the currency, it would be impossible to to use the web browser for money transactions.
