Forward delete word Mac extended keyboard
How do I forward delete the next word on a Mac extended keyboard? I'm on a Mac Pro Late 2013 using an extended keyboard (color coded for Avid).

Hi there ykt28403,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you need to know how to forward delete. You can use Control-D or use Fn-Delete. You can find more keyboard shortcuts here: Mac keyboard shortcuts.
We hope this helps!
Hi again ykt28403,
It looks like there is not a keyboard shortcut to delete the entire word to the right of the cursor. You can make your own keyboard shortcuts by following this article: Create keyboard shortcuts for apps on Mac.
If your keyboard shortcuts don't work the way you expect, see what to try here: If a keyboard shortcut doesn’t work on Mac.
We hope this helps!
Hi again ykt28403,
Option-Delete is already used by another keyboard shortcut, so you wouldn't be able to create a new one for that key combination. Try using Option+fn+Delete and see if that works to delete the word to the right of the cursor.
If you have any more questions, reach out to Apple directly here: Get Support.
Have a good day!
I need to know how to forward delete the word to the right of the insertion point. Opt-Delete works in some cases (ex. in this post) but doesn't in others (ex. MS Word online).
The link above says how to delete the word to the left of the insertion point but has nothing re: the word to the right.
Trying to create a keyboard shortcut; but when I type the keyboard combination I want to use in the "Keyboard Shortcut" field (Opt-Del), nothing happens, and the "Add" button is greyed out.
