Random new phone number?

A new phone number is now registered to my phone. I haven’t inserted a new sim or changed my apple ID in any way. It won’t let me deregister it, and it says the number is being used for facetime and imessage. I want to get rid of it but I don’t know how.

Random phone number under my Apple ID Random phone number appeared under my Apple ID stating that it is "contactable at iMessage and facetime". I can't remove the number in anyway. I've tried to change password, sign out of my Apple ID etc. In this way I can remove my personal phone number but this random number is still under my Apple ID. Any way to remove it? Thank you!

How to deregister if I do not have the iPhone that the 6 digit code is being sent to? There is a phone number under my AppleID that do not have nor do I have any idea who this number belongs to and when I attempt to deregister the number from receiving iMessage and FaceTime messages I choose the option that I do not have the iPhone but when I enter the number it sends the 6 digit number to the iPhone and the number that I do not have.. how can I find out what’s going on and fix this?

Try signing out of Messages/FaceTime and then see if you can deregister the number.

iMessage on your iPhone or online - Deregister.

Messages or FaceTime - Add or remove your phone number
