Outlook app issues with Iphone11

After an update, currently on software 14.4.2 on an iphone11, the outlook mail app will not allow outgoing emails. Incoming is just fine. Every time when trying to send, it fails and places the email in draft. I have validated setting with the mail provider, deleted, reinstalled, but nothing has fixed the problem. A verizon guy said he's heard of this but had no solution as seemed to be an apple software issue.

You called the wrong person. The "Verizon Guy", most of the time, will have no clue about app functionality. What you need to do is contact Outlook support right from the app. Open the Outlook app on your iPhone ➔ Settings ➔ Help & Feedback ➔ Contact Outlook Mobile Support : You will then be walked through the process of reporting the issue. They are pretty fast in responding back and engaging in near live chat.
