Cannot remove Logitech's Background Replace from login items

Hey all,

I used to have an app called Logitech Camera Settings which put the following into the login items. It's something that is locked and can't be removed via the minus button.

What's even more frustrating, when I remove the camera settings app, it now shows up as a kind of "unknown". I literally can't remove it at all and I wondered if there was a way for this list to be updated?

I've tried uninstalling the app several times and each time a new row gets added...

Hi Chris,

So it turns out the answer was super simple. I selected the row and hit delete and it disappeared. The interaction was very odd though, and the fact I hadn't tried this was because the minus button was disabled making it look like it wasn't removable by the user.

Either way, it's sorted now with minimal bother. Thanks for your help trying to resolve this for me.

Hello stugreenham,

Thanks for the update! Test see if you can remove anything else from system preferences. If you are't able to , try creating a new user account and see if it will allow u to remove it:

You can also run disk utility to ensure there are no issues with the Mac HD drive:

Hi Chris,

Thanks for replying. I can certainly try safe mode but the issue is that there is no software to remove, it’s already been removed and all traces of the app have gone. The multiple instances show because I’ve installed it a few times to try work out how to remove it and none have worked. Now I’m stuck with a bunch of items I can’t remove and are connected to nothing installed on my computer.

for what it’s worth, the image shows ‘Application’ but since uninstalling the app in question they now all say ‘unknown’
