Can I use the Smart Keyboard when it's not physically connected to the iPad Pro?

Can I use the Smart Keyboard when it's not physically connected to the iPad Pro? In some cases I'd like them to not be physically connected.

No, not possible. The Smart Keyboard is powered by the iPad - via the smart connector contacts on the body of the iPad and Smart Keyboard.


If you wish to use a separate keyboard, you must either use a Bluetooth wireless keyboard (of which there are many from which to choose) or a wired USB Keyboard.
