Just trying to update my MacBook Pro 2018 from macOS High Sierra to macOS Big Sur. Fails repeatedly at 13 minutes with this error. "The operation couldn't be completed. (PKDownloadError error 8.). Have tried all recommendations, no luck. (hardwired to ethernet, delete previous install files, etc, etc...Help.

WOW! That's all it was. Opened the lid and the install ran clean. Such a simple suggestion, wished Apple would have included in instructions, or did I miss this. Thank you so much!

Did you close the lid or put to sleep of your mac? It turns off every processes including Internet and installing process
