How to update quicktime player on MacBook air to run Skype?

Hi everyone, I am trying to update my MacBook air which I don't often use. I've uploaded the big sur upgrade, bought windows 365 which comes with Skype. I don't seem to be able to launch Skype. All my software updates are showing as loaded. Quicktime player doesn't seem to have been updated since January 2020. Is there a way to force this to update? It's not showing as pending...?

Thanks so much in advance. :)

As a fellow user, I can assure you that Skype 8.69 runs fine on macOS Big Sur 11.2.3, and your issue is not about the version of QuickTime on this OS. As the version of QuickTime is tied to/bundled with the version macOS, it will always be up-to-date for the system software.

Please try reinstalling or re-downloading just Skype.
