Error code: -36 when attempting to mount Windows File shares
I am a newbie to this forum and I hope I am posting this question to the correct discussion area. Hopefully someone can suggest a possible solution to this problem.
I recently acquired an original eMac for home use, which I have integrated into my home network (one PC desktop and several laptops, all running Windows 7) for the most part. I am able to see shared files from the eMac (running Tiger 10.4.11) on the desktop PC, but I am unable to mount any Windows shared folders on the eMac.
Upon choosing "Connect to server" from the "Go" menu and entering "smb://IPaddressofPC" I get an error message: "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "smb://IPaddressofPC" could not be read or written. (Error code -36)"
This sounds like a permissions issue, but I cannot seem to find the problem. My MacBook Pro from work that runs Leopard does not have this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
