use usb-C to connect to an external monitor with charging

I am connecting iMac 27 (2020) to an external monitor, LG 27UN850-W which has a usb-c port with power supply (60W). Can i connect this directly to iMac's thunderbolt port? Wondering if the power from monitor's usb-C output would damage iMac? as iMac doesn't need charging like a macbook. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

iMac 27″, macOS 11.2

No. The power from the monitor's USB-C pout would not damage the iMac. It is its own power source.
