Hi dcfrogs1,

We understand you have some questions about the amount of memory that your MacBook Pro is using, and we'd like to help. To clarify, are you seeing a message that the Mac is low on disk space, or running low on memory (RAM)? If the Mac is running low on memory resources, Activity Monitor can help determine which processes are using the most memory.

If the Mac is running low on disk space, we can help with that as well.

Should the problem continue, please let us know exactly what the message says, and we'll go from there.

All the best.

I keep getting a window that says:

Your computer is low on memory

To free up some memory, please close a few applications.

However, I'm only running one application when this happens. Two at the most.

I'm running OS 10.15.7, have 16 GBs Ram, using 7.42 GBs per the activity monitor, which shows green in the memory pressure box. I emptied my caches yesterday, but they are at 4.25 GBs again. Does anybody know what's going on here? Thanks you.
