Using Two Factor Authentication:

Your iPad and iPhone should get the Two-Factor Authentication. So, to enable it on both devices...

2. Scroll to: Turn on Two-Factor Authentication on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
3. Proceed from there as necessary
