PNG photos being saved with white background

I do free graphics for grieving families. I have an iPhone 6S and for some reason all my clipped photos are being saved as a file with a white background instead of a transparent background. What the heck is up with this? I researched it and cannot find an answer. Someone said try saving to the file application? What and where would I find this file application? I do graphics from early morning to late in the evening for families that are suffering the loss of A loved one and I need an answer ASAP. Thank you
