macbook pro does not charge till computer dies, then works fine

My macbook pro has done this 3 times in the past 6 months where even though it's plugged in to a working charger with a working outlet, the computer stops charging and then the battery drains completely till the computer dies. After 24 hours, the computer charges and works fine.

This week it has happened twice. Battery test says it's good. Any ideas?

Are you using the correct size charger for your laptop? If you are using a charger that is too small, then the laptop will drain the battery in order to compensate for the inadequate charger. Once the laptop is powered off, the smaller charger is able to charge the battery. Here is an Apple article for identifying the correct charger for your laptop:

You can always use a larger size charger. For example if your laptop only requires a 60W charger, then you can use either a 60W charger or an 85W charger.
