0.5 ultra wide iPhone 12 Pro Max produces very soft images

I haven’t managed to take a single picture on my iPhone 12 Pro Max with the ultra wide lens that looks sharp - literally every one looks soft once you zoom past full screen, even slightly. In good light too.

I either have a faulty iPhone or the ultra wide is just garbage - anyone else have the same issue?

Don't get me wrong, the standard camera is excellent, low light amazing etc. but the wide lens looks like it uses plastic instead of coated glass. The tele lens is fine too.

Which iOS version is your iPhone running? Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
It sounds like you've always experienced this issue, correct? If the issue hasn't always occurred, were any changes made to your device or its settings before this began?
Since noticing this issue, have you had a chance to go through these steps? If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working

Thanks for the reply. I’m on the latest iOS, 14.4.2. (At the time of posting). No changes made, always used the camera app and look after my phone. Lenses clean too (I’m a life long photographer and have a a full frame ILC system).

And yes, the quality has been consistently poor. The main camera is stellar. This picture is typical - decent light and looks reasonable at full screen, but any level of zoom and the picture is mush.
