Would a new owner be able to recover my MacBook files after a trade in?

I am trading in a 2019 MacBook Pro. I want know if after doing the factory reset, and reinstalling the os, if it’s possible for someone else to recover my files once I trade it in. I had confidential work files on it, and bank documents that would make it easy for criminals to do all sorts of harm if recovered.

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)
