Missing Mail

Hi, I recently created a new rule in my apple mail (Big Sur) to move mail from selected senders into a folder. I then click 'apply now', and all messages from those senders have been deleted and i can't find them in the trash even. they're not showing up even in the search.

Apple mail "Rules" Hello, I thought that by creating a simple rule in Apple Mail, to identify all senders that were not in my contacts, I could clean up a bit my backlog of e-mails. I clicked okay, and nothing happened... sure enough new e-mails that were sent from senders not in my contact list were shaded Orange, but not the thousands of already downloaded e-mails. So not so useful after all, is this how it is suppose to work, or have I done something wrong? I also tried setting the rules to place the e-mails in another folder; the result was the same: only new e-mails sent to folder. Cheers, Rouretan

Apple Mail Rules not working after macOS Ventura update The Rules I have in Apple Mail are again not automatically running when new emails are downloaded from Mindspring. This is a repeat issue for me and before it was "fixed" when I updated MacOS. Not a fix this time when I downloaded Ventura 13.4! FYI Apple Support and I created a work around! Open Rules, duplicate one of the existing rules, apply it, and all the Rules run, as it should, to scan my inbox. Then all I have to do is delete the "Copy of xx" that I just made. So I am doing this several times a day as I get 300+ emails per day. Lack of rules working automatically creates a forest of ?? This all started about 6/7or8/2023. You maybe able to retrieve them at www.icloud.com and log into with Apple ID and iCloud password >> Mail Recently Deleted. It may work if the messages are Recent.

same problem. Nothing in iCloud. What's the next step? More importantly, what's happening? Why does a bunch of email disappear? It's happened to me 3 times, always when I'm cleaning out some old email no longer needed.
