Final Cut Pro: Is it good for talented beginners?

I head up global sales and marketing for my security software company. I'm really busy but recognize that effective, rich, entertaining communications are essential to my work.

Should I try final cut pro?

I first tried AVID and ADOBE Premiere over 15 years ago and struggled mightily for hours just to render 5-10 minutes of video. The trials and frustrations were just enough to get me to give up and outsource the work. It would save me a ton of time if I could avoid the breaks in the creative process.

Should I dive back in?

Thanks! I Look forward to your thoughts...
