I have tried turning auto brightness off. I have tried turning True Tone off. I have the latest OS 14.4.2.
Phone is basically unusable like this....

I was seeing my screen remain dim after I would unlock. But restarting my phone fixed it haha. Just another turn it off, turn it on again solutions. Thanks for the help!

It sounds as though the display brightness is decreasing when locking the iPhone. To clarify a bit further is the screen remaining dim when unlocking the iPhone? If the screen is going black when locking the iPhone this is expected as the iPhone is being locked.
