iPhone XR getting hot whilst not on charge

today my iPhone XR started heating up around the charge point area of the screen whilst not plugged into charger. have also noticed a slight screen burn where the swipe line sits at the bottom of the screen too. Tried turning it off for a bit, but still heating up off charge. Any ideas what could be causing it?
