music too loud when recording with mic

I have been trying to record reactions to videos on youtube and the video music is far louder than my voice(I am using the default Ipad mic with RecordIt as the app). This also happens when I am trying to record gameplay audio. The music is way too loud even though the volume is turned down entirely. If the game app has internal music settings, then it can work. Otherwise, music is simply overpowering my voice. I’ve tried using headphones with the mic and the problem is the same. Using wireless bluetooth headset sounds AWFUL. I have yet to use an IPAD specific mic/headset. But, if i have to, then I can get a set, but I want to find a solution before doing that. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for posting in Apple Communities. It sounds like you are having trouble recording your voice while playing a video on your iPad. We have some tips that can help you find the solution you need.

Are you noticing this issue when using the Voice Memos app? What about using the multitasking feature for example, a FaceTime call while streaming content?

If these issues aren't appearing while using Apple apps, try reaching out to the app developer for the Recordlt app for additional support.

I don’t use Voicememos or FaceTime. All I can say is that I am trying to react to Youtube Videos and the video overpowers the my voice. I can’t hear my own voice at all.
