Can't clear yellow time under "hiking" icon on apple 3 watch

A yellow time is stuck under my hiking icon - none of the other workouts have this problem (e.g., outdoor walk, swimming). I can't get it back to "open goal". I'm not sure what I did, but I can't clear it out. I am able to open the hiking up for a new workout, but the yellow time doesn't clear. I also think it is somehow draining my battery as it loses battery life quickly now.

Annoying "End Workout" message in Apple Watch Greetings! During my hikes (6-9 hours) I always run the hiking program on the Apple watch. Unfortunately I keep getting "End Workout" messages and the hiking program pauses until I press "Dismiss" on the watch. Sometime I stop to drink or rest for a couple of minutes and the program decides that I am done, so ... "End Workout." Other times it just happens out of the blue. If I do not notice that the program has paused behind my back I keep climbing without that being recorded and from that point on I am relying on erroneous elevation info. It has happened and it is not nice. Is there a way to prevent this from happening and make sure that the hiking program starts and stops only when *I* want and not when *it* decides I am done with climbing? Activity rings are "greyed" out (not highlighted) during middle of the day The activity rings on my apple watch series 3 Nike Edition are "greyed" out and not recording any movements. It was working for half the day (recorded 1,600 steps and 214 calories) and then abruptly turned "grey" (not recording) as shown in the attached image after about 6 hours of wearing it. I unpaired the apple watch and re-paired it. This solved the issue for a day but this happened again the next day where it "greyed" out half way through the day. I have also noticed the battery drastically draining whenever this situation happens

Thanks fieryjack - I employed the third approach and after a few repeats the watch cleared out that persistent yellow time stamp and now it shows "open goal" again. It really stumped me and I still don't know how I got stuck there - but sure glad it isn't there anymore!
