Hi there sabaarbab,

Thanks for joining us in Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're seeing horizontal lines on the display of your iPhone when using the Camera app. We're glad you're here, and we'd like to learn more to see how we can help.

To start, does this only happen when covering the lens of the camera? If not, do you ever see these lines when accessing any other apps or features on your iPhone? Are you able to take photos without any issues? Let's be sure you've tried the steps in this support article to see if they help:

If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working

Send over these details, and we'll take a closer look from there.

Cheers.

sabaarbab,

Thanks for following up with us. Let's continue working together to sort this out. Did you try the steps in the link we sent? If so, did they seem to help?

If not, let us know if this happens when recording a video or taking a photo in different camera modes, like Portrait or Square. Have a look at this link to learn more about camera modes on your iPhone:

Use camera modes on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Next, does the screen still appear this way in the Camera app with automatic HDR turned off?

"On iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and later, go to Settings > Camera, then turn off Smart HDR. Then from the camera screen, tap HDR to turn it off or on." This link provides more details:

Adjust HDR camera settings on iPhone

Let us know how it goes.

Take care.
