Contacts disappearing from iPhone XR
Why are some of my Contacts, which I’ve had for many years, disappearing from my iPhone XR suddenly?

Make sure Contacts in iCloud is turned on. On your iPhone, go to:
Settings -> Apple ID (Your Name) -> iCloud.
Find contacts and make sure it is on.
If your contacts are gone then you can try to restore them here:
From a PC or Mac, go to: https://www.icloud.com
Go to Account Settings. Scroll down a bit. In the Advanced section, you will find "Restore Contacts
