apps arent opening

everytime i try to open the netflix app on my apply tv it immediately takes me back to the home page, for some reason the netflix app literally will not open. i have tried deleting netflix and unplugging the tv. why is this happening

This updated Netflix app requires that the Apple TV software (tvOS) is updated as well. How to update your Apple TV - Apple Support
