My iPhone 8 can be fully charged and then shuts down inexplicably when I attempt to do anything. It can opening an App, or Safari, and before I can even do anything it shuts down with no power. I have to plug it in to get it started. Battery then say 9% and within a minute it can be back up to 25% and then back to where it was. I have backed up and put it back to factory settings but it still happens all the time.

...If your iPhone 8 still has its original battery, it probably needs replacement:

Reputable. Beginning of 2019 as part of a 24 month contract. Contract ran out January 2021. 🤷♀️
