Touch ID not working for password autofill

Hi, my Touch ID has stopped working for password autofill on MacPro. Anyone facing a similar issue?

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

Reset the SMC and NVRAM:***

Sometimes, changes take place while your Mac is being used, making it operate not as intended (In this case, use of the touchpad). It might take up to three time to perform this.

Startup in Safe Mode. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201262

Select your account and login.

Test.

Log out of your account.

To leave Safe Mode, click Apple logo  in the menu bar and choose “Restart”.

Test.


Touch ID

System Preferences > Touch ID > Use Touch ID for:

Uncheck the box beside “Unlocking your Mac”.

Log out.


Log back in 

Check the box beside “Unlocking your Mac”.

Test.

Reset Extensions — Single them Out:***

Apparently an extension may be getting in the way here. So, to single it out, disable them all, then reactivate them one at a time, refreshing the site you are using after each reactivation.

  1. Disable: all extensions
  2. Reactivate: one extension at a time
