My locked note asked me for my password rather than face ID, but I don't recall the password despite the hint as I haven't used since establishing face ID. I now cannot access the note, which has information I need. I tried changing the password already too within the settings, but this does not appear to have worked.

The password for a note would be different than the one you set to open your iPhone. If you cannot remember it there is no way to access the Note.

Geez, it was a note locked with my other passwords. I have always used face ID for a couple years now, so don't remember the password for the note itself :(
