Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My iMac started running extremely slow and when I rebooted it, it made the startup noise, then immediately displayed a white circle with a diagonal line through it on a black screen. I shut it down and unplugged it for 10 seconds with the same result. Any ideas?
FYI, about 5 years ago I replaced the HD with a SSD drive and maxed out the memory, which has worked great.

Thanks, that helped. It found no errors, but I noticed that the OS X Base System partition is 1.28GB with only 40MB available. Might this be the problem? I also opened a terminal and did a df -k which showed me that there is plenty of user space, but /dev has 0 space or iNodes available. My SSD drive is 1 TB. Any suggestions?
Could you please upload a picture of Disk Utility with "View" --> "Show All Devices" (if shown) on?
