I'm using S-P5 to produce a booklet for professional printing. The printer requests it as a PDF. Using Adobe Acrobat Pro, he separates the colour cover, then converts the rest of the booklet into B&W.

Unfortunately, he can't. The printer previously received this booklet from another designer who used Microsoft Publisher and he never had a problem.

Even trying to save the file as a pdf on grayscale (via options when gone to convert via 'Print') my end only only results in the first page of the booklet being converted.

Have 'exported' to PDF without joy.

Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

You need explicit requirements from your printer before choosing the tool to create your booklet. If the printer requires PDF/X-3 standard, and Belight's Swift Publisher 5.5 can only export a PDF as an archive (PDF/A) standard, then the printer may run into the issue you are currently facing. Before you contact Belight, ensure you know explicitly what the printer requires so they can either further assist you, or you realize that their product only outputs PDF/A documents. Swift Publisher is a far cry from MS Publisher which also features a Commercial Press PDF output setting, and likely the PDF/X-3 standard.

None of the products you have mentioned are Apple products and thus, it is between you, Belight, and your printer.
