Ethernet Issues over USB-C

I started having ethernet issues today over USB-C. My workspace is too far from the wifi router in my office to maintain a good connection, so I hardwire internet to my 16" MacBook Pro to fix this.

I have been using a Belkin F4U082 multimedia hub for almost a year and everything worked fine when I left work yesterday. Today the USB 10/100/1000 LAN connection shows "cable unplugged" no matter what I do. I have tested my multimedia port on a similar MBP already and know the port is not the issue.

Any thoughts?

Have you shut all devices down and rebooted them, starting with the modem, router and then the MBP?
