The battery has a one year from purchase date warranty if defective.
Oh!!! That sounds like a swollen Battery, which can happen with lithium ion batteries. Take it back to Apple so they can confirm the damage was caused by a swollen battery and they should replace the phone at just a battery service fee if it was caused by the battery.
Also don’t be disappointed in Apple because a 90 day repair warranty is a lot more than most other companies give, which is 30 days or nothing.
The warranty on the battery that Apple installed is very very disappointing - it's bulging and cracking open my iPhone after it was installed just five and a half months ago. I expected better!
