AirPods with tv Transmitter

I just purchased my AirPods and paired them with a Mee transmitter for my tv. Does anyone know if there is a way to turn the volume up on the AirPods

Yes I am serious, already went through this with a friend's husband. You can connect the AirPods to your iPhone and set the volume you want then connect them to the MEE but that is as close as you will get. I solved the issue with Bob buy giving him my MEE headphones (over the ear model, they have volume controls).
