switch from personal to business apple ID

I use my phone and my macbook for business and personal use. I need to be able to switch between the personal and business apple IDs since I work from home.

Can I set up a profile for personal with one ID and another for business?

You can do that on the computer by setting up another user account so you have a personal user account and a business user account.

User Account – Add New Admin

User Account – Add New Admin In Single User Mode

User account add (2)

On the phone, you can't set up a 2nd profile. You would have to log out of one ID and then log in with the other ID. When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. If possible, also set up Family Sharing  between the IDs to keep access to your apps/purchases.
