iPad 5th gen trade in questions

My mom gave me her old iPad and we had to get the screen replaced because my sister shattered it. With the screen replacement, it's in perfect condition but no apple pencils are compatible with the 5th gen 9.7 inch iPad. My main use for this iPad was going to be taking notes for school and digital art, neither of which I can do well without an apple pencil. I went on the Apple website to see what I could get for a trade-in and it gave me a value of $165, which would cover over half my costs for the new iPad I want. So my question is if I send this in will the replaced screen lower or even completely get rid of the value of the iPad? I just don't want to buy a newer iPad expecting to get $165 taken off the price and then Apple receiving my trade-in and deciding it's worthless and not giving me trade-in money.

Have you started walking through the trade-in process? I have never used it but I get the impression they ask you questions in order to give you a better estimate of the value. I am also under the impression that if you do not like the value when they finally review the device in person that you can back out if you want to.

It was not repaired through apple and yes i went through the whole trade in process. My estimate trade in value was $165. They mention that once they receive the product and examine they can change the value and that’s my worry. The questions were very vague and they’re were only like 4. So while my iPad technically is in “perfect” condition because it didn’t have any noticeable wear, i’m worried they’ll examine it, notice the screens been replaced, render it worthless, and i lose nearly $200. I think I will just sell it on ebay or facebook market place to avoid this stress lol. Thanks for the suggestion!!
