On my iPhone 11 Pro Max, when I receive a video via iMessage from certain people, the video shows as a tiny thumbnail. It’s so small I can barely click on it. When it plays, it plays within the tiny thumbnail.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?

We see when receiving a video from some of your contacts, you only see a small low quality version of the video.
To aid us in isolating this, can you clarify the following?
If this issue does only occur with non-iPhone users, this may be a limitation set by your or their carrier. SMS or MMS messages sent through your carriers may automatically have size and resolution limits placed on them. As such, your iPhone may compress some photo and video attachments as necessary.

Thanks for the additional details. Do you notice if this behavior occurs on cellular data, Wi-Fi or both?
Additionally, is it always the same contacts affected, or does it seem random?

This sometimes happens on a 1-on-1 chat and sometimes a group. The other people are also iPhone users. We are all on Verizon plans. All messages are blue.
