Apple - iPod Service Pricing - Apple Support - quite pricey.

Search for local repair shops - cheaper.

Search Amazon/eBay for parts and do it yourself - cheapest.

I've replaced several batteries in 5th & 6th gen. classics. The hardest part is getting the case open with minimal cosmetic damage. Plenty of how to guides to be found online.
