Can I clone my HD in my Mac Pro 1,1 Running OSX10.7, and dump it into a Mac Pro 2,1

I have an ailing 1,1 that I use for studio recording and I have a 2,1 available. Could I clone the drive in my 1,1 and drop it into the 2,1 without any issues?

cloning an external drive After a fire (Mac was not affected) I need to clone 4 hard drives to identical new hard drives as restoration company predicts failure down the road. All drives identical LaCie ruggedized 2TB as are the replacements. Do I need to format the new drives first and if so what is the best format? (I'm Mac only, no need for pc compatibility. Do I need to use the same format as the old drives?) Cloning an external hard drive to another on Mac An IT support person told me to click and drag the contents of the external hard drive I want to copy over to the newly formatted external drive. Then, I found the below answer in this community: If you need to clone Drive A to Drive B: Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility 1. Open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder. 2. Select the destination volume from the left side list. 3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window. 4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field. 5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field. 6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button. Destination means Drive B. Source means Drive A. It's old, and no one has replied to the thread for a long time, hence I'm posting this. I don't know which one is correct. Could anyone help me please?! Thanks. 🙏

Yes, except that a very small number of settings, such as the Energy Saver ones, won't be carried over, and some commercial software may refuse to run.
