I have an older MacBook Pro that I had to replace the hard drive in how do I reinstall the OS X is it possible to use my newer MacBook Pro?

Try restarting with the Command and R keys held down. If the computer's model and firmware is too old for that option to be available, use an install disk. You may be able to use the newer Mac to create an installation thumbdrive.
