iPad killing my lightning cables

I got a brand new lightning cable with my airpods, and used it to charge my iPad. Shortly after, the lightning cable wouldn't charge my ipad, iphone or airpods. I thought maybe the cable just died... Not even a week later, I go charge my ipad with my other lightning cable and that one also died! Now both cables won't charge either my phone, ipad or airpods. Is it the cables? Is it maybe the iPad? I'm afraid now to buy more cables cause my iPad might just destroy those too...

Maybe just coincidence.

While Apple charges a lot for what I consider inferior quality cables, they usually do not go bad that quickly.

Apple branded cables are not the best and can break/split ( usually near the main connection points as there is minimal cable strain relief ( additonal larger cable protection material ) around the cable near the connection port.

Try better quality, heavier ( thicker ) cables (or braided nylon cables ) from Belkin and Anker electronics, found on Amazon.

Even Amazon's Basics braided nylon cables are better than those offered by Apple.

Best of Luck to You!
