New Apple ID

Hi, my husband and I share an Apple ID and it’s becoming annoying because we have our own music and photos and don’t always want to share. I can’t use iMessage because the messages go to my iPad, and also my husbands. Also, every time we get a new device we get messages to confirm ID etc. The messages constantly pop up on my husbands phone. If I start a new Apple ID for my husband, will we lose the music on his phone and iPad that we have already purchased? Thanks

Sharing the same Apple ID for different people is not a good practice.

That said, yes, apps and related subscriptions are permanently tied to the Apple ID that was used to download/install them, sorry.
