My aunt and uncle gave their iPad to my mother. I erased it. It’s still won’t let me set up a new Apple ID for my mother. I get a message that reads cannot create Apple ID. I checked with my aunt and uncle and they said that the iPad is no longer on their find my iPhone app. I don’t know what else to try.

Create a new ID (if necessary) and sign into iCloud using the same Apple ID on another Apple device/computer. You should then be able to sign in.

I understand how to do it I’ve already went through those steps. But it tells me I cannot create an account at this time. We have looked on the find my iPhone and it is not turned on for this device. This device is no longer listed on their account. What could be the problem?
