My friend’s iPhone XS Max is heavier than my iPhone 11 Pro Max

Recently my friend got the XS Max and it is heavier than my 11 Pro Max. I don’t know why, maybe because he has the 256GB version and I have the 64GB, does the storage size affects weight?

Probably 256GB makes a difference because another friend has the 11 Pro 256GB and my 11 Pro Max 64GB is a lot lighter again.

They are not the same phone and no, the size of the memory would have little to do with the weight of the phone. Xs Max is older than 11 Pro Max. They have different components in them, including different size batteries, which is most likely a contributor to the weight difference.

Edit: I just checked the specifications and you are not correct. iPhone 11 Pro Max weighs more than iPhone Xs Max.

iPhone 11 Pro Max = 226 g (7.97 oz) iPhone Xs Max = 208 g (7.34 oz)

And it turns out 11 Pro Max has a larger battery than Xs Max as well.
