High kernel_task activity after water spillage on MacBook Pro

I accidentally spilt water on my laptop. I was quick to overturn it and dry it in every possible way, tissues, cloths and even hair dryer(low temp). I performed a force shut down immediately and then left it so to air dry for 2 days straight. By then the battery drained completely when I tried powering it up. It slowly booted once there was enough charge but soon the fan started revving up and took a while to slow down. Since then everytime I turn it on it starts with the full fan and kernel task shows 200-300% activity.

what should my next step be?

You will need to have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to provide you with a repair estimate.
